2009 Graduation

2009 Graduation

We are only one week away from graduation.  This year, 35 individuals will be recognized for their hard work and learning during the past eight months.  After more than 40 different speakers, experts and community leaders, 128 hours of training and practice, 11 homework and participant presentations, 32 testimonies at the state capitol, 6 on-camera interviews with a veteran reporter, and multiple legislative visits and phone calls, this class is ready to advocate for themselves and their community.  Each graduate is just one session away from completing their commitment to fully participate in this intense learning experience that has included long training hours, plenty of homework, and challenges to their understanding of what makes a great advocate.  And every individual participant has committed to putting this experience to work for the disabilities community through local, state and national advocacy on those issues important to the life and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

Graduation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24th at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport in Los Angeles, California.
